Career History
Since qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1990 I have had a varied career within the Acute Hospital environment. This includes management of medical wards which included care of people with acquired brain injury, cardiac, oncology & vascular conditions. I also worked within the specialism of Palliative Care as Clinical Nurse Specialist. I have also acted as an advocate for patients and latterly as a Clinical Lead Nurse for people with Multiple Sclerosis.
I am confident within the acute hospital setting and the community and comfortable within multidisciplinary teams and as an independent practitioner. My goal has always been to keep the client at the centre of focus, within a health system which can feel incredibly difficult for clients and families to navigate at times.
Current Work
I am a skilled practitioner with many years of experience in complex care planning, meeting the needs of the client and those who are important to them. I believe in building positive relationships to develop open lines of communication and achieve individuals’ goals together.
