Adults with Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury and complex needs.
London, Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas
I qualified as an RGN in 1994 and have worked in a variety of settings within the NHS and Private sectors, including acute nursing care, both within the hospital and community, Medical Nurse Practitioner, Team Leader for adults with acquired/traumatic brain injury and challenging behaviour, Parkinson’s Disease Nurse Specialist and Case Manager for complex care.
Most recently I worked as a Discharge Facilitator responsible for completing all levels of Continuing Healthcare (CHC) paperwork including Decision Support Tools (DSTs) and Fast Tracks for complex and complicated discharges.
I am passionate about ensuring best care is sourced and provided tailored to individual needs.
I joined Head First as I believe passionately that life after injury should be as fulfilling and full of potential as possible. I enjoy getting to know my clients, their family and friends to gain a full understanding of their needs and aspirations to ensure that I am able to facilitate person-centred care and support.
I strongly believe that with teamwork, support, strong professional working relationships and robust advocacy great things are achievable, and goals and objectives can be met.
My current role involves co-ordinating and reviewing my clients’ care and rehabilitation, working alongside other multidisciplinary team members to achieve set outcomes. I also support my client and their family through changes and any complex issues that may arise, acting as an advocate and in their best interests.
