I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2000 and commenced my career in neurology on the acute neuro-surgical and neuro-rehabiliation wards at King’s Collage Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Southeast London. I subsequently transferred my knowledge and skills to a number of community settings in London and the South East where I enjoyed opportunities to help rehabilitate both younger and older adults with various physical, neurological and mental health needs.
I have always endeavoured to advance my studies whilst working and have gained a Masters degree and a Professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. I have also spent time working as a Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow within the School of Heath Sciences at the University of Brighton.
I joined Head First in 2014 and continue to focus on helping clients to restore, develop and maintain their functional capacity, health and quality of life through meaningful occupation in the home, the workplace and in the wider community. I love working in partnership with my clients, their families, appointed therapists and legal teams to help facilitate and establish robust support worker teams and client centred rehabilitation programmes to enable the whole team to collectively support the client to achieve hope, determine realistic goals and to meaningfully engage in life once again.
