Adults with Acquired Brain Injury
Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, London
I qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2006 and quickly specialised in the field of brain injury, spending five years working in specialist brain injury units across Northamptonshire. This developed my passion for and interest in working with this client group.
I also gained experience as an independent physiotherapist working closely with Case Managers as part of an MDT providing rehabilitation to brain injured clients living in the community. I enjoyed working collaboratively with the client, family and other professionals to support the clients to reach their goals, whilst allowing them to maintain function and relative independence in their own homes and communities.
I joined Head First in order to expand the opportunities for clients to achieve their full potential following injury, by facilitating progress in every domain of the clients’ lives, providing input from a more holistic perspective.
I enjoy advocating for individuals and I am passionate about making a difference for clients and their families. The role of a Case Manager includes the skills that I most enjoy, essentially, working closely with the client and their family and collaborating with other professionals and services to provide coordinated, effective support.
