Community rehabilitation is essential to enable clients' to generalise their skills into everyday life after a severe brain injury. At Head First, Dr Doreen Baxter, a Consultant Neuropsychologist works alongside the case managers and therapy professionals to establish and co-ordinate timely and cost effective community rehabilitation programmes.
Rehabilitation programmes are designed to be specific to the clients' needs; and psychologists and therapists are responsible for treating the client and training the client's family and support workers to support the client to use their skills, as far as possible. These rehabilitation programmes are evaluated regularly and dynamically changed according to the client's needs and family circumstances.
