Stephanie de Stadler RGN - Brain Injury Case Manager

Stephanie de StadlerStephanie completed her Bachelor of Curationis (Honours in Nursing Science) degree in 2001 in South Africa, majoring in General Nursing, Primary Health Care, Midwifery and Mental Health.

During her studies she developed an interest in brain injury, and assisted in rehabilitation therapy programmes.   Stephanie began working as a Staff Nurse in medical and surgical wards, and then specialised in a neurosurgical and orthopaedic ward, prior to commencing work in London.   There she nursed in many different disciplines and hospitals for a year, until she began working at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in Queen Square.

At the NHNN, Stephanie worked as a Staff Nurse in the Acute Brain Injury Unit and Neurosurgical ward for two years.   Her role included assessing needs, and planning care for acute traumatic brain injury clients, and assisting therapists in providing cognitive and physical rehabilitation.   She also had close liaisons with neuro-psychologists, the medical team and the Brain Injury Specialist Nurse.

Stephanie's interest in rehabilitation in brain injury extends further to her current studies to qualify as a practitioner in HANDLE® Holistic Approach to Neurodevelopment and Learning Efficiency).

Stephanie commenced working at Head First as a Trainee Brain Injury Case Manager in January 2006 and after successful completion of induction and training is now working as a Clinical Brain injury Case Manager with brain injured clients, their families and support workers.
